For the past few months, whilst leading up to and in lockdown, I’ve been putting together a page on this site for my MA application. For a few years now I’ve been migrating my teaching from predominantly art and design to animation, art and design. This has mostly been through the awesome NextGen course that my good friend and colleague Adam set up.
My teaching on the course covers the animation and art units where we specialise in Maya. As it’s such a beast of a programme and the topic is so beautifully rich, it’s something I’d wanted to move forwards with and and MA seemed like a good creative and career choice. I probably spent a couple of years looking at local provision with no success, due to overlapping timetables, then earlier this year I’d committed to having another look through my work IPR. After a couple of weeks emailing and googling I found this excellent, one of a kind online 3D Computer Animation MA at Bucks New University. The sweet spot was that it’s run by Alexander Williams, the very accomplished and experienced son of the great Richard Williams.
So I start in September, it’s a part time 18 month affair and I’m soooo excited. Here’s a few links and a piece done for the application page-
